Father’s Day

Writing is genetic, at least in my family. My Dad wrote a weekly column on general aviation for nearly 40 years, my brother is a magazine editor, and my Mom serves as an ad hoc proofreader for us all.

Writing non-fiction combines research, writing, curiosity, and a good story.  Fortunately for the reader, my Dad published a compilation of his columns in a book entitled “Adventures in Flying: A Collection of Adventure and Human Interest Flying Stories from the Wright Brothers to the Concorde.” You can read about Malcolm Forbes’s zest for hot air balloons; Jimmy Doolittle’s many accomplishments, most notably the Tokyo Raid; as well as a host of other flying adventures in helicopters, warbirds, seaplanes, and gliders. It’s a great gift not only for father’s day, but any time of the year.

Happy Father’s Day!
